This is the segment of the Polytechnic, which is responsible for learning, teaching and research, or the training of students in special fields of disciplines. This academic department is sub-divided into faculties.

Each faculty is headed by a Dean and under the faculties are department which are headed by heads of departments. Each Departments is staffed by a number of lecturers and instructors of various grades.
